Without Coloured Paint (Free Verse)

by Ashleigh Skye   Jun 6, 2008

Without coloured paint,
Red flames would still cause destruction.
Orange leaves would still fall when they're ready.
Yellow rays of sun would still warm our faces.
Green moss would still feel as soft to touch.
Blue waves would still lap tenderly around our feet.
Indigo birds would still wake us cheerfully in the morning with their song.
And violet flowers would still smell as sweet.

And if that is the way it is in nature,
how come society can't view it the same?

Ahh, how true. I was excited to read this poem. I have one titled the same and I was wondering what you came up with according to the title. Mine was about life and society but not quite the same idea. I love your poem, I think it goes well with the title. And the meaning is quite amazing.
