Thank You

From the moment we first spoke I didn't know what to do
cause I knew that you were different and I would fall for you
by the end of it it was official you had my heart
my best friend noticed this and told me to be careful from the start
but I didn't listen cause I said it wouldn't happen this time I wouldn't get depressed over you you wouldn't take over my mind
but this is exactly what happened and I let you get to me
I thought this story would have a different ending but I just couldn't see
that even though I thought it would work, I had a plan in mind
you and I just didn't agree, for you love Isn't hard to find
soon you had a new girlfriend. good personality and beautiful with great hair
while I sat in my room alone, pretending I didn't care
I said this isn't the first time I've dealt with this in the past
but here I am writing this poem about you. its not the first and probably not the last
but even though you've knocked me down and caused me all this pain
you've also been the one who helped me get through all the rain
so even though I've been depressed and cried myself to sleep over you
I just want you to know you still brighten my life and say
