Set To Rise

by Bored One   Jun 12, 2008

At the set of the sun,
As the light fades away,
And the world is still,
Waiting in twilight,

The world sits against the darkness,
Holding the light,
Like a child with its mother,
Hanging on for dear life,

The darkness cannot be stopped,
No matter how the world holds the light,
Eventually all is wrapped in darkness,
And there is no more darkness,

The world waits in darkness,
Wanting the light,
Cowering at the darkness,
Waiting desperately for the light,

But the light never comes,
The dark abyss can be seen,
Ready to take the world,
When the darkness is strongest,

As the world sits,
On the edge of oblivion,
Soon to be overrun by darkness,
The sun appears with glorious light,

The light shatters the darkness,
Spending it back to oblivion,
And the dawn gives birth,
To a brand new day.

Your poems are very deep... and full of meaning. Very well written.
