Exhaustion

by The Herald   Jun 13, 2008

I run a ragged race

my steps come tired and sloppy

i run a slowing pace

my beating pulse is choppy

my arms and hands be pumping

the air into my lungs

the sweat from my brow im dumping

with a flick of my head it's flung

so many people passing

their heads following my path

so many people massing

as the road absorbs my wrath

i leave them all behind me

those watchers who won't do

i watch and wait for she

and i will run to you
