In her eyes

by The Herald   Jun 13, 2008

I see myself reflected,
my shallowness knows no ends
looking deeper she my soul has infected
just when my heart's begun to mend

liquid emerald, shining stars
in her gaze has she me enraptured
but to view them close, not from afar
would again my soul she capture

enamored with her, knowing no other
pray i, she knows all i want for us
cursed am i to be considered a brother
to her, i'd my heart entrust

twice rejected, twice come the tears
my singular thought to pursue but her
none of it shall she have, gives life to my fears
holds my soul in her hand, crushed now, cursed

reason dispelled, waiting for her
others pass by in seconds
i would wait for the day when she sees me as more
and finally to her would i beckon

this day though i pray, would come soon enough,
never i know it shall
another her heart has taken, treated rough
my entity leaps to be with her, but not as her pal

to be more, oh the chance, would good enough be
for believe me, i'd know her thoughts
her eyes'd tell me all, what to say, but she
hides them, and again, i am lost
