Dear Baby,

by Wasted Fake Smiles   Jun 19, 2008

Dear baby inside me although you may not be there,
I can't believe I could be a mommy. Just know I'll always care.
I know I'm only 17, but I'll shower you with love,
For you are my gem sent to me from above.

You may never know your daddy, but he is not bad,
We're just so young, he's not ready to be a dad.
Truth is, Im not ready to be a mom, but I'll learn,
I promise to be nice and loving, but sometimes I'll be stern.

Sometimes I may make you mad, but just know I'll always love you,
I already do and I don't even know if you are true...
If you are in me, I promise you'll be born,
And never from my arms will you be torn.

I'll love you and cherish you as long as I live,
Even if family and friends may not forgive.
Even if people will stop and stare,
I swear to you, I will always care.

If you aren't here, I know I will cry,
Because if you aren't real, I'll still feel that you've died.
I don't think of you as a pet, just unconditional affection,
Someone that will be a young me reflection.

Someone that will call me mommy and give me a big kiss,
And I know there's no feeling quite like this.
I hope you're inside me, though times will be hard,
But I'll never let anyone hurt you. I'll always be on guard.

Dear baby inside me, although you might not be there,
Forever in my heart you'll be a child I did bare.
Whether you are in me, or it was a false alarm,
I will never let anyone do your memory harm.

Love,
Your Mommy [Erika]
