Moon Light

Tonight is great tonight is wonderful
The moon is out and nice and full
We lay there after a hard day of traveling
A long journey ends, finally as we lay together
Now I am yours and you are mine
Together as one just like we dreamed
The plane had problems so I took a train
The train broke down so I took a car
The car broke down and then I rode a bike
The bike broke in half so I decided to walk
I was many miles away with little hope
I promised to see you so I kept on going
I walked from dawn to dusk and rain to sun
Through yards and fields from sidewalks to highways
Nothing stopped me from walking
Tired and hungry I walked for miles
I ran through storms and swam through rivers
Nothing but the shirt on my back
No money, food, or friend
And what kept me going was hope
You were on my mind the entire way
Couldn’t stop thinking of your voice
It kept my mind busy the whole time
I thought of you and forced myself to go
Finally I reached my destination
At 2 in the morning I run through the town
Shouting your name and asking around
I ask an old man he tells me where to go
I run for the house on the edge of town
With a smile on my face and joy in my heart
I arrive there as you lay in the back
The moon was full as it shined so brightly
In the moon light laid the love of my life
She looked more beautiful then ever
As I walked from the shadow I heard her words
I wish he was here right now more then anything
I walked next to her and whispered in her ear
I will always be here for you no matter what
Her face made to a beautiful smile like no other
As we kissed in the moon light for the stars to see
We lay her together in love forever
