I'm the girl in the dark
the shadow in the night
the one in the corner
who is always out of sight

I'm the one by herself
pencil and paper in hand
writing down her feeling
that no one seems to understand

I'm the one on the run
not afraid to feel free
guitar in hand
wanting everyone to see

I'm the lonely girl
tired of the past
hoping for the best
