Lost and Left Behind

by XXXrusted silverXXXwas nvr good enough to be goldXXX   Jun 28, 2008

A world spinning in circles,
So fast we struggle just to thrive,
Trying not to loose ourselves,
Barely keeping up-not left behind.

There's just something when I look at you,
That makes me forget all that's gone wrong,
How I've spent my whole life trying,
To stay afloat and just be strong.

For a few seconds things become extinct,
Like lies, regrets and pain,
Alls well for those few moments,
Bliss overcomes disdain.

There's something that rests in your eyes,
That brings comfort to my heart,
That's bled for so many years,
Trying not to fall apart.

There's a safety in your arms,
That reminds me of who I used to be,
Not the person that I turned into,
While struggling to be free.

Like an illness happy is lost to me,
How you bring it I'm not sure,
But does it really matter,
As long as you're a cure?

Thank you for seeing past a shell,
And seeing what's inside,
To the person I really am,
The girl that learned to hide.

From a world spinning so fast,
She struggled to survive,
Who ended up loosing herself,
Who got lost and left behind.
