Silence

by Behind Blue Eyes   Jul 1, 2008

Your voice is going through a drought.
i'm wishing for a flood.
'cause your silence is overtaking me
like heroin to the blood.
there are times when silence has the loudest voice.
for you, it has from the start.
though spiteful words hurt feelings,
silence breaks the heart.
it hides a lot of things.
it tells truths, and it tells lies.
your expressions used to give you away
but i can't look you in the eyes.
without your comforting support
i'm left to question your silence.
is it out of fear, or pity?
or is it out of malevolence?
