What happened?

I tried so hard
and i wanted it so much
but it just wasn't enough

i wanted you to love me
i wanted you to care
but you were never really there

you said you were my best friend
you would help me when things get tough
but now I'm drowning in my tears
and you cant help but to laugh

you always used to be there
just like a best friend should
but then one day, she came around
and i was left alone

no one to support me
no one to wipe my tears
i thought that u would be there
to help me with my fears

but u left me down and broken
with nothing to hold on to
i just wanted you to save me
from all that I was going through

it was my darkest time
and you had left me to bear
i was left searching
for someone who was never really there
