An Anti-Fairytale

Id like to tell you a story
of a girl with broken dreams
she wished hoped and filled herself with lies
and never came any closer to these things
this girl lived in a home
of hatred and regret
and after a while it got so bad
she couldn't help but hate herself
this girl lived in a town
looked upon in disgust
she walked by as they shouted profanities
all because of the way she looked
but this girls mind was in trouble
for she did not know what was in store
who knew so much pain would come
from something as harmless as a boy
this boy to whom I'm referring
was an absolute dream come true
a light to lead her down a broken path
and then play her like a fool
well he played his game
and he played it like a pro
when it was all over she was broken
with nothing left to show
so here she was
back at the start
nothing having come from this
left only with a broken heart
a year or two later
along came another game
so she decided to play to win
but it only ended in more pain
then along came a boy
a regular knight in tainted armor
he became one of her closest friends
then lied and told her he loved her
unfortunately she believed him
and so the charade began
her friends assured her it was love
but it was all fates twisted plan
on and on it took her
while he played off her pain
then on day she realized
she was playing an unwinnable game
she tried and tried to forget him
but it just couldn't be done
she tried to throw her feelings away
but she knew he had won
the whole time this was happening
no one ever knew
that when she was alone she hurt herself
but this was it she was finally through
when she came to this conclusion
a noise came from her throat like laughter
she carved her final words into her arm
...this is my happily ever after!
