Never Learn

by xxFound Againxx   Oct 30, 2018

will can be broken by a simple action
a mind penetrated without words
a world shattered by simply walking away
a soul reduced to nothing without concern

a heart left sunken in defeat
a flame blown out in her eyes
too much time spent waiting her turn
a little more of her hope dies

all the horrid thoughts going through her mind
shes left fighting the voices alone
hes much too busy to notice her struggling
shes left to do it on her own

when sleep finally comes shes happy
anything can happen in a dream
she can make any image appear in her mind
and avoid the impending pain

she wakes up feeling hopeful again
she waits patiently for her turn
yet again she goes unnoticed
seems like she will never learn

it eats her up as she holds it in
she cant form the words she needs
so much time
spent being criticized
its easier just to let it bleed

a wound gone long untreated
infection a growing concern
she nurses herself all she can
but again she never learns.

Sometimes the same lesson can seem to repeat, repeat, repeat and yet it may take many more times before the lesson is learnt. However if the character isn't happy continuing to do the same things without change will bring the same results. Sometimes a leap of faith is required to remove yourself from a relationship that doesn't bring you happiness. A thought provoking piece. Milly x
