Who pulls our strings?

by dante   Jul 3, 2008

As I lay here broken in a forest by the stream
It occurs to me that all I am is someone else’s living dream
They pull my strings as I pull theirs when next I close my eyes
Yet if one of us would end our life
Would the other die?
A symbiotic lover or a parasitic foe
I’ve asked my puppeteer and honestly we do not know
Yet still all we dream of is each other
Are we ever free?
I do not know
Yet when searching
My stings force me to flee
