A TERRIBLE AFFLICTION

by Alex Joyaux   Jul 7, 2008

A terrible affliction,
So grim, so dim, so bleak,
Eats away at my insides,
Mutes my mouth to speak

And hiding within precipices,
Unbeknownst to me,
Into the corners of my mind,
Arouses fear to be

My lips then cannot utter,
A sound cannot be heard,
While the soul dost take its toll,
I cannot say a word

Though my heart lies trembling,
Though my body aches,
Ne'er will I forget remembering
The future I partake.
