The crossroads

by Brennan P   Jul 7, 2008

At the crossroads again I stand
With not a map or compass in hand
Which road to travel left or right
Both are similar in my sight

The journey to this point I recall
Twas unique, yet joined by all
Bright peals of laughter, veils of tears
Points of certain, plagues of gnawing fears

My daytime travails are spent without
The one who's desired lips I dream about
A tantalizing succubi flame of my sleep
Fatigued, weary in grotesque desire so deep

To lay bold and bare my hearts pain
Yet this action would be no more than vain
For whom and what I seek
The willing capture seems so bleak

One road to heaven, one road to hell
One road to paradise, the other just as well
For hell would be heaven sent
If to me your heart were lent

But heaven would be hellish fame
It would be without your love it's the same
Where you are, I fain to be
Alone without you, no colors do I see

No map or compass yet I stand
Your lead I'll take with thy hand
Guide me on to heaven or hell
Paradise is here with you, all is well

Oh fie, the dream is gone
Awake, I stand again alone
Reality crashes in, thunderous grand
At the crossroads still I stand
