With One Swift Motion (Silence)

by Cassidy   Jul 9, 2008

There's been too many nights
left feeling alone
left feeling forgotten
left feeling numb.

used, abused
there's no excuse
when it comes down to it
there's nothing you could do

no one was there to help
there's no easy way to
end it

but that night you planned to.

locked in your room
forgotten and alone
hiding in disgrace
from the welts on your face

holding your sacred teddy
in one hand
the one thing in the world
that kept you going.
and in the other hand
the one thing in the world
that will end it all.

there is a drunken knock at your door,
with words you'll never forget
"come out and play"
your tears begin to fall
with one swift motion everything
begins to mutter in silence
everything begins to stop.

today we heard over the P.A
of what you'd done,
and a silence took over a school of people
who pretended to actually care.
