I Am

by Dacey Flame   Jul 12, 2008

I am small and nonchalant
I wonder why I am who I am
I hear fingers tapping nervously
I see the sun warming my world
I want a purpose
I am small and nonchalant

I pretend I am not here
I feel anxious in life
I touch the words that define me
I worry about our futures
I laugh as much as I feel I can
I am small and nonchalant

I understand much less than you think
I believe in my opinions
I dream about a small body
I try to teach others to smile
I hope things are not as they seem to be
I am small and nonchalant
