I was confused and lost
For I did not know where to turn
So I prayed for direction in life
And He replied, "I am"

I was still unsure of myself
I trusted, but felt not really connected
Then, I asked for a new life
And He replied, "I am"

Now affirmed, I felt renewed
But the road was not easily traveled
I prayed for peace and strength
And He replied, "I am"

Forevermore, I will trust
Though the Way is difficult at times
I will always have a God beside me
And He replied, "I am"
