Forget

by Sam Hindmarsh   Jul 14, 2008

Go now!
I will not forget thee,
Sit thee upon my memory's ledge,
For you never said a thing.
Whenever I look back at you,
I will think,
My wishes have been granted.
Now I must forget.

No not now,
Not after all I've done for thee.
You will live and let live.
I will not let you let me go.
But hold you ever closer to our likenesses,
And drive through wind and flame,
And earth and water,
But I won't forget.

And standing here,
Looking at you,
Your gleaming glistening brow
That never disinterests the constant mind.
But opens new worlds for the simple.
So I'll keep that on my memories ledge
For now and forever,
I will not for get.
