Sinking Sorrows and Final Smile

by InvisiblyHeartless   Jul 17, 2008

Someone save my sinking ship,
someone save my broken life,
someone save my empty lifeboat,
someone save my sinking vessel,
someone save the splintered wood,
someone save my pierced heart,
so someone else can drown it again,
someone save my life in need,
someone please do for the pain and misery.
someone love me until my death,
for someone to come along and spoil it.
someone let it go so it will fly,
shinning brightly from the sky,
someone let me go home tonight,
because baby, you took my personality,
so that i was lost in you,
and then you did what all men do.
someone tell him how to know,
someone tell him what I'm going through,
it seems he doesn't understand.
someone save the lifeless thing,
growing heavy with the weight of water.
or else im finished in this world.
someone please. save me

I think this poem might have had a better ring to it if it was a rhyming poem. However, I thought the repetition was great and gave it a really great impact. Great writing.

God. Thanks for putting these words out there, Lex. Cuz i didn't know how to say it..you pretty much put into words how i'm feeling. this is great. i love repetition, when it's done well, and this was done beautifully. great job, hon. pure emotion. <3

I really liked this poem alot. what I got out of it when I was reading it, is no matter what kinda way you are going there will be someone going to save you, no matter if they are the right person to do so or the wrong person the mistakes show and the past stays. its sorta saying that you want the certain someone just to save yourself.

    keep it up.
    keep on writing.
    love always and forever.
