Waiting

by Ashley Ross   Jul 18, 2008

She waits on the grassy hill for that one chance
she waits for the rain to fall silently upon her
she waits for her dreams to fall from the sky
she waits for true love to find her
but did she wait too long?

Her face is frozen
her limbs are lame
she can no longer feel her own pain
did she wait too long?

That chance never came
the rain never fell
the dreams clung to the cloud in hopes of staying away
true love never came and whisked her away
did she wait too long?

She's still waiting for that one chance upon the now overgrown hill
she's still waiting for the rain to drench her- even loudly
she's still waiting for those dreams she had long ago to fall from the sky like rain
she's still waiting for true love to discover her
is she waiting too long?

She never gave up on that glimmer of hope
she never doubted that it would happen
she never lost her faith in fate
but she waited too long- and she still waits in hope that those things will happen.....
