That night was the night that changed her life.
screech and a crash was all that it took
the sirens went off around the crash
it was as though god wanted her to have a better look
it was her birthday and a day to enjoy
he wanted her to have something as special as she could
she sat watched her candles melt while waiting for him
he never came back as she had hoped he would
she blew out the candles in all of her anger and frustration
she screamed out in the emptiness with all of her hate
that paramedics loaded him up onto the stretcher
putting a sheet over him for it was too late
half asleep she heard the phone ring
he had the pain of giving her the news
heavy breathing and her wrist bleeding
she never realized that she had that much to lose
he was her one and only til end
they were suppose to grow old and make it last
through the good and the bad times
little did they know that it'd end that fast
he had gone for her birthday present
to get something special far away
his death was on her hands
if not for her he'd be alive today
his parents said different
her parents didn't know
she didn't think she could live without him
she couldn't let him go
