Damn Tumor

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Jul 20, 2008

I saw him as he struggled to walk..
Whilst fear crawled through his face..
His wealth was weak, He couldn't speak..
His walk consisted of a small pace.

I saw his brother helping him around..
And holding him when he was about to faint..
He looked so innocent and broke my heart..
That ailing, suffering man..Almost a saint.

I wanted to help him in any way i could
To comfort him while he sleeps.
Although he's a stranger to me..As i am to him.
Nevertheless, I can't help but weep.

I asked some folks what was wrong with him..
"A Tumor".. That's what they said
He slept on the discomfortable airplane chairs..
Instead of a relaxing bed.

I peek at his brother..Who peeks at his brother.
To check whether his sibling is fine.
He than gets up and kisses his brother's hand..
What i witnessed was too painful and not enough for these lines..

But, this is to the man who is suffering.
This is to the man who could barely walk.
This is to the person whom a damn tumor destroyed.
If that person died soon, i wouldn't get shocked.

I hope he will get better. Because seeing him like this was not easy to see..
I hope he will survive this and just go along and be.

Health is wealth.. As that poor man has taught me today
He'd give anything to gain back his life.
I pray he will beat the damn tumor
After suffering and Strife.

Dear sick Stranger, You have taught me alot.
Although all you did was sleep and moan.
Dear Stranger, i felt you struggling.
I felt you were alone.

This is to the man who is suffering.
Whose strength i've seen today.
I hope he'll continue to do better.
May God speed his journey.. For him, Let us all pray.

** This poem is about a man i've seen today on my plane back from London to my country of Kuwait. Although he fainted infront of people, and experienced alot of pain, he kept his grace and fortitude infront of everybody, even standing up after he fainted. Even Though, he was persuaded by his brother to sit on a weelchair until the stewardess took him to his assigned seat on the plane. May god be with that man. May Godspeed his journey and alleviate him from any pain and suffering. Might also be a lesson to others that life may not be what they thought it was about all along.
