Beautiful Creation

by HiddenPoet   Jul 20, 2008

He formed the mass of the earth,
shaping it with His Hands.
He added light and darkness,
day and night to the world.
And He lovingly looked over what had been created
and saw only beauty.

He separated the sky from the seas
and placed them apart.
One above and one below-
each a place for life.
And He lovingly looked over what had been created
and saw only beauty.

He parted the oceans to reveal dry land,
a place for plants to grow abundantly.
He planted a grand variety of grasses, plants, and trees,
which grew to bear a multitude of fruit and seeds.
And He lovingly looked over what had been created
and saw only beauty.

He created the sun and moon
to provide light unto the day and night.
He put the stars in the night sky,
one by one, shining bright.
And He lovingly looked over what had been created
and saw only beauty.

He filled the waters of the oceans with life,
fish in plenitude began to swim within.
The skies were also filled with birds of many kinds.
He blessed and told them to further populate.
And He lovingly looked over what had been created
and saw only beauty.

He brought forth wildlife of many species
to live upon the earth's land.
He then planned a keeper of the earth, sky, and sea
and created man, in the image of Him, for this purpose.
And He lovingly looked over what had been created
and saw only beauty.

The heavens and earth were at last complete;
His work of creation was finished.
He set aside other work He had been doing,
for He declared this a holy time of rest.
And He lovingly looked over what had been created
and saw only beauty.

    This was a lovely read:

    The heavens and earth were at last complete;
His work of creation was finished.
He set aside other work He had been doing,
for He declared this a holy time of rest.
And He lovingly looked over what had been created
    and saw only beauty.

This stanza very nice. It's to bad humans are destroying his beautiful earth. You are a great free verse poet, you open the eyes of the reader allowing them to see your words as described. Well done
