Soldier's Poem

I fight for your life.
Do you care?

I am just one soldier of many.
From one of many countries,
from one of many causes.
But we are all the same.

So let's throw it all away,
and join the battles,
the conflicts and the dying,
because no one really cares any more.

I'm only one soldier, remember?

All you have to do is watch the action films,
where they make it look fun, dying.
I just have to try to block out the screams,
that are always ringing in my head.

I am just one bullet away from death,
I know I chose, but it still counts.
It would still be another gravestone,
so do you think you deserve your freedom?

The world will never be free,
and you will never deserve it.

If you remember anything at all,
just remember this:
