The Off Hours

by Josh   Jul 21, 2008

I cast my blanket, with a fold to the side
entering my bed,
with none but painful thoughts on my mind.
I leave this world,
Absent of opportunities and good times,
to enter a whole new world,
full of felicity and tranquility.

They come, the thoughts,
like a river, fast and plentiful,
there there, so extravagant and surreal,
I Wait and adore,
that all of my greatest wishes are coming true,
all of my dreams and hopes
area appearing before my eyes.

but like being revived from a coma, i awake with a bump,
only to find that it all,

was just a dream.

Nice work Josh! I really know what you mean though, about going to sleep with all that weight on your mind...then falling asleep, and it's gone, entering a world where everything feels right, if only for a second...then...BAM. I also liked your word choice...it seems that usually when people use more sophisticated language it flows better and paints a thourough picture. Keep it up.
    Take care,
    Ignoris
