Senseless Confessions

by brie kelly wise   Jul 21, 2008

Senseless discussions make for one burnt confession
Countless heart attacks are the leading effect
Of an endless, "there's something out there" procession
We create ourselves and reassure the lost and alone
That we're all waiting on something of the impossible
And that the current you is not the one you think you've known

Murder rings through the ears of fulfilling lives
The emanating screaming makes the children bleed
But it's only suicide until we find the holder of all knives
Treetops give, roofs crack under the pressure of the hopeful ones
The ones who see the sky as an attempt to break free from these arms
The arms that constantly boast about their need to carry guns

They tape over our wired wounds
The wounds that waste their time with the hand on the trigger
We'll barely dream of tighter ropes, colder chains soon
I waste away under the protection of conceited mothers
We look so small here, away from the beautiful people
Tell me you know what bleeds from my eyes like no other
