Her Eyes

by PaInFuL mEmOrIeS   Jul 26, 2008

In the presence of him her eyes were full of fear.
He would strike if he saw a single tear.
Us kids would hide behind the couch.
Hoping that this maniac would soon be done.
But once he was done he would get another beer,
And just start his "dance" all over again.
Her eyes would cry when he was away.
And her eyes would wish to never see another day.

I liked this one, very expressive in just a few short lines. nicely written flow also.

Her eyes would cry when he was away.
And her eyes would wish to never see another day.

i liked those lines. they were somewhat suspenseful and also quite deep. loved this poem. job well done. 5/5.
