Innocence And Ignorance, Once

by Dutch   Jul 28, 2008

Imagine those days once, when it was easy just to be.
When just the act of breathing didnt hurt the chest
And when your eyes opened in the morning
You werent disappointed.

Imagining those days, once
When you still felt alive
And the lies surrounding smiles
Didnt seem quite so large

Imagine days like these, when its easy to be
The laugh had volume, and still sounded like music
And when all you needed was that hand to hold
To make the smile look real

Imagining those days, once
When you could still feel
Blood becomes a part of you
And you take it in your stride

Imagine one of those days, when its easy to be
You danced under those stars to the sounds around you
And you didnt even need any music
To sway the way you would

Imagining those days, once
When you loved in spades
You are pulled into shreds
To keep crawling back

Imagining all of these days, when its easy just to be
You were beautiful in your innocence and ignorance
And your chest didnt permanently ache
The way it does now

Imagining those days when you truly felt alive.

    I like it. A lot.
To be honest, I don't really quite understand
all of your poems. But I do like them.

Thanks for commenting on mine as well. :)
