Silence is Shameful

by Marisa   Aug 1, 2008

How do we find the strength in our hearts
To fulfill our own wishes and play our own parts
While those who are close collapse and cry
Silence is shameful but we don't know why

Thrusting ahead while lagging behind
Falling victim to misleading signs
Wanting to help but unwilling to try
Silence is shameful and we don't know why

A simple prayer could change a life
One kind word to stop the strife
The fire is burning but gives off no life
The silence is shameful for it buries our lies

Wanting to try but dwelling in fear
Lacking the words to make our hopes clear
If we can break the silence help is near
So raise up your voice for all to hear
