Might Angels Mourn

by -] Nobody [-   Aug 3, 2008

You used to wipe your caring eyes
As teardrops rolled down to your cheeks
Broken hearted with shattered dreams
You had lost all of the things
you had for so long seeked

Twisted bedsheets and endless rains
The becoming of your darkest night
You had so many questions
Looking out onto those city streets
but you never said a name
or stepped into the light

Grieving over your past losses
You gazed off into a pitch black sky
You counted the holes where Heaven shaded
And wished over a million wishes
Right up until the day they died

Never knew the meaning of this life
or why everything seemed to go so wrong
Swore it to be a curse within our hands
As you cradled your head with care
Trying to find a way to be strong

You cursed the wind and the rain
and everything that came in-between
Always knew life behind a 4 leaf clover
was much like the wishes you wished
Just something you'd never seen

Love was a figment of your darker times
Forever a myth in memory of your pain
So many wishes and so many dreams
I wished I could've made true for you
But I can't bring back life again

You passed away not long ago as a child
Never knowing much but caring for us all
Always knew you had more heart than mind
And I believe that God seen that too
But I'll always think about you Paul

    This poem is truly beautiful
    except the last line
    I'm sorry to say
But honestly one of the best poems I've read here.
    Nice work
