Live Today

by Bill Turner   Aug 3, 2008

Days of smiles and light
What I find with you
Passion and desire at night
My heart will always be true

I have given all I can
You hold my heart
I am a simple man
Have been from the start

Take my hand and walk with me
As we journey through this life
I may be wild and free
But I will always honor you, my wife

I cannot promise you tomorrow
I promise you each and every day
Someday you will feel sorrow
I promise it will be okay

Smile and live each day my wife
For I live them all just for you
I give you all the rest of my life
I will always and forever be true

What a heartfelt piece you have penned. Your words are full of the kind of love everyone yearns for.

    I cannot promise you tomorrow
I promise you each and every day
    Someday you will feel sorrow
I promise it will be okay

How true tomorrow is not promised to anyone. I wish I would have realized that much sooner. Enjoy each day your are given.

Smile and live each day my wife
For I live them all just for you
I give you all the rest of my life
I will always and forever be true

I love your ending. The emotions in this piece come straight from the heart.

    Excellent!

Bill, your wife is a very lucky woman.very romantic and sincere.I like poems that don't get so elaborate that they lose the human sincere quality. this one maintains that perfectly.
