My Dear Friend

by bubbles   Aug 7, 2008

I wish that I could do something to ease your troubled mind
My friend you don't deserve these things, my friend who's caring and so kind
It hurts me deep down inside, when I see you in such pain
I wish that I could make things good, see you smile just once again

I want to ease your worries and take away your fears
And if you feel really down I'll help to dry your tears
A friend who's always there, and to me you've listened to
I'll be there when you need me and I'll do the same for you

My dear friend to ease your pain is my only goal
I see it in those pale green eyes and in your heart and soul
When I see this pain in you, it hurts my insides too
And the broken heart you feel, I feel, as if I am you
It hurts you just as much I know, when you listen to my pain
And your time, you give to me, never looking for personal gain

But my friend, I will always be, around to lend an ear
A friend to hold you in my arms, a friend who'll keep you near
I feel as if you've always been, my friend in every way
I can't believe it's only been six months to the very day

My dear friend, my love for you, is more than you will know
So remember I am always here whenever you feel low
But my friend, my one wish, is that soon your life will be
Full of love, joy, contentment and the things that make you happy.
