Memories

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Aug 8, 2008

Memories. Oh, Those memories.
What can ever rid me of those memories?
The ones that make me shiver and scared.
The ones that came to me when i wasn't prepared.

Buried deep in the grave of my soul.
For years they have taken their toll.
Oh memories, why don't you leave me alone?
I wish i had a heart of stone.

Oh memories, should i treasure you as a remembrance?
Or should i let go?
Well, i guess i will keep it up to the days.
Maybe you'll grow inside of me.
Or perhaps you will die slowly.

You make me strong, yet you always make me weak.
Sometimes you're silent, and sometimes you speak.
Oh memories, you and i have become partners now.
Perhaps you bring out the hero in me and my cowardly streak.

Oh memories, Are you my enemy or one of my friends?
Are you my prologue or how my story ends?
Oh memories, i try to bury you deep in my soul.
Because you are the only thing that's hard for me to control.
