While You Sleep

Angels dance around your crown
As your mind wanders in peaceful sleep.

The moon has paused its nightly journey
To watch you while you sleep.

The stars joyfully realign
In your honour while you sleep.

The wind has calmed its flurry to a gentle,
Warming caress for you while you sleep.

The creatures of the night
Scurry silently on their way to let you sleep.

And as for me,
I watch you with gratefulness and awe while you sleep.

Wonderful things occur in homage to you
As you sleep.
