Lost

by Paul London   Aug 20, 2008

A mind lost in a sea of confusion
No clarity or stability, no sense of balance
Churning water, ebbing and flowing relentlessly
Calmness and serenity, a thing of the past;

Courage alas, left behind, lost to those who are weak
Direction and guidance, intertwined with chaos
Seeing no light, never finding an end, only despair
A sense of foreboding, all things good cease to exist;

Dark and black, a hole to be sought out
A place of forever, hiding like the worm underneath
Thoughts misplaced, only the blank stare of infinity
Heaving mounds of dementia, lost is sanity;

No place of comfort nor warmth or strength
Nothing to hold onto, slipping, sliding, falling fast
Enormous is the void, which blankets the light
Time for solitude, no spoken word to be found;

A mind gone blank, ask me, where is hope?

    When we lose hope it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. I honestly believe in releasing the feelings in poetry and again you have done it. You have released that emotion that I have begun to admire in your poetry. Great write. and I will keep reading.

    Take Care,

    Awesome dark poem...I really enjoyed reading it a lot..
    And my favorite part is

    No place of comfort nor warmth or strength
    Nothing to hold onto, slipping, sliding, falling fast
    Enormous is the void, which blankets the light
    Time for solitude, no spoken word to be found;

    A mind gone blank, ask me, where is hope?
