Love from afar

by Rodney Kirby   Aug 21, 2008

I caught a glimpse of you the other day,
You just kept walking and I thought you'd stay,
Every time I see you my heart skips a beat,
Hoping some day, one day well meet.
Although we've not met, I love you my dear
Ive patiently waited for almost a year,
To gather the courage to ask for your heart
To fill you with love Ive had from the start
I may never ask, because you'll see me with fear
Ive been disfigured by disease and my end is near
So I will watch you from afar with love in my heart
It will last till the end until the day that we part
I must say I have truly loved, but am doomed by this fate
To never actually touch you, now death I cant wait

Disease is something that is hard to deal with especially if you know it's got the best of you. But harder still is to love and never have the change to give it..
You have such a tender heart, I feel it in each of your poems.
