One Last Second

by Herb Jones   Aug 24, 2008

This isn't what I imagined.
The room is spinning.
And you refuse to say what I haven't.
The plan was perfect.
And so were you.
But, I've said things I regret.
Mumbled emotions, and crumpled up thoughts.
Please don't stare awkwardly.
It turns my stomach into knots.
The moment is lost and you're leaving.
Words are lost on my lack of courage.
All I can do is stand here barely breathing.
If I could grab one last second.
And pull you back.
I'd show you how I feel.
Inside and out.
