The Dance

by Lottie   Aug 27, 2008

A flutter of dresses and a smart of suits,
the lights shined on them like a sun at midday.
A giggle of girls and a chatter of boys,
the excitement grew and the worries passed.
girls twirling and dancing with their partners,
tall and fair and sweet sixteen.
Boys, very handsome and striking poses,
with spiked hair winking at the ladies.
a sparkle of eyes and a shine of smiles,
liven the atmosphere even more.
the music getting louder keeping neighbours awake,
but no one cares as this is their night.
the company of friends join in the fun,
with giggles and laughter all around.
a worry of exams now in the past,
a time of fun is brought to the dance.

I like this a lot, i loved how you used your title to sum up the ending of your poem. I thought the flow of your words was very good. keep it up.
