Daydreams

by Brett   Aug 28, 2008

All I ever wanted was the impossible to exist.
Why? So my agony could then be dismissed?
I wanted it to be like my wildest dreams,
Wild enough to where I bust at the seams.
But those are only dreams, life isn't that simple.

Its a labyrinth of twists and turns.
Most of which lead to inevitable burns.
Which is why I am here, stuck in the middle,
Convinced you are my shortcut right out of this griddle.
But these are only dreams, life isn't that painless.

Its full of great losses and undenyable sacrifice.
I've been through this with you not once, but twice.
You are my one, my only, my true soulmate.
You are completely different from the enemies I hate.
But these are only dreams, life isn't that known.

Its a mystery to even the brightest of men.
Weathered or not, i'm still exposed to this pin.
So please be gentle as I grow out of this fad.
Its just so devastating - look what we could've had!
But this is just a dream, life is never this bad...
