Faded Applause

by Melanie   Aug 28, 2008

Disfigured by all your tauntings.
You force me to hide away;
to go up and stay there.

I hate your insights on
whom i should and shouldn't be.

I am me.
I am only me.

You tell me it's all my fault,
but take a closer look in the mirror.
Your the only one to blame.

You continue to pick fights;
continue to push me away.

I am me.
I am only me.

Stay away from my dreams.
Don't shut the door to my hopes.
Leave me alone.

I can't stand you anymore.
I wish to be stolen for another.

Given the satisfaction that I
could never stand up to you,
I am still me.
I will only be me.
