The Dead Rose

by Shannon Pyscotic   Sep 4, 2008

The rose has wilted
Just like the flower that was my heart.
It wasn't intentional
But you hit my hearts bullseye with your dart.

You told me it would last
And that our love will never end.
Yet now we are apart
And my dignity I must defend.

You moved from me
Straight to her
The signs I could not see
Thinking we were happy together

My hurt is here
I cannot deny
But I won't shed a tear
Nor crawl up and die.
