Hocked

by Failling Death   Sep 6, 2008

He left his heart unguarded
Though it was never seen

He hid it under a shroud
And tired to be happy with little

He had not realized what had happened
That his heart had been seized
He opened up his book of lies
And gave them for the world to see

A year he hid his secret
And a year he bore the pain inside

He saw her again
And it all came smashing back into him

He made his thoughts and feelings clear
And was repaid with the amount he had expected

He bore the pain inside for seven horrifyingly great weeks
Not even realizing he had everything to loose
and nothing to gain but addiction

As the weeks grew shorter and the days followed suit
He came to a striking conclusion

He was hocked

He had a small enough dosage to keep him sane
But not enough to end the pain

He counts the days till he will see her again
Knowing full well he'll miss her again
