Just Be There

by Rachel   Sep 6, 2008

You're a friend but you're not
You try to help me and be there
But the times I needed you most
It seemed you didn't care

I know you have your problems
And I truly want to help you
But you won't open up
So what am I to do?

I've tried reaching out
And I did all that I could
I've exceeded the limit
That most friends ever would

You truly understand me
But just not this one part
You fail to see the issue
That's tugging at my heart

I've been there when I shouldn't
I've lied for you and me
And trust me it's not easy
You truly just don't see

But don't get me wrong
It's worth all the trouble
But only if I know
I mean more to you than rubble

And I bet you're confused
You think I'm insane
But it feels like you're using
Our friendship for your gain

You're making friends
And I'm here alone
And all through the night
My problems have grown

But I just need to know
That you actually care
And I hope that you'll want
To just be a friend, be there
