Hear the alarm

by jojo   Sep 7, 2008

How could an abortion occur at the age of sixteen
Or a mother murder her own flesh
A women selling herself for cash
Or a positive pregnancy test
A poor man begging for some change
A quarter, a nickel, a dime
Is it too hard to arrange
Could it be possible that
There is just not enough time
To fix the world as its falling apart
Whether its stopping world hunger
Or even mending a broken heart
Ending global warming before it gets to be too much
A naïve teen using drugs as a crutch
Time is our only problem melting quick beneath us
If more people cared and wouldnt hold a fuss
Maybe just maybe our world can be whole again
And no matter what race can hold each others hand
But its only a hope, only a dream
No need to get your hopes up or so it seems
For is it too much to ask
As one simple task
That we live without much harm
When will we stop snoozing and hear the alarm?

I really love this poem, the message was intense and written beautifully. It flows really well and I just really enjoyed the moral behind it. A strong point you prove very well. 5/5
