True Love?

by Joshua Lee   Sep 10, 2008

I like the passage of youth as we live our lives
And the many surprises it holds for us
The secrets so hidden yet grand to behold
That flavors our tasteless tongues
And delivers us our enjoyment
And evidence of our lives to show us that
we are living, I am living, so watch us now
Here it comes, it is contentment reincarnate
Here it is to rejoice, hallelujah

Here it is, that everlasting love in human form
That stretches out its arm for us
Stressing bone and arm for love of us
It reaches out its fingers for us to grasp
but tendons begin to snap and muscles fall to pieces
and its arm is rendered useless
we gape in horror but don’t really care
for love is still within us
and there it rejoices, hallelujah

Still it is, still it is within us
That ever never changing romance
That resides so deep inside us
That makes us weep and cry and scream and laugh
And tear out our hearts as they are still beating
To show them our eternal love
A glimpse of all our emotions at once
So they may feel as we have felt for so long
The tides of love, here to rejoice, hallelujah
