Lazy August Afternoon (Song)

It's a Lazy August Afternoon
Hope it doesn't end too soon
I'm floating like a toy balloon
This Lazy August Afternoon

Close my eyes and slip away
To Dreamland, Mars and Mandelay
So long world, I'?m on my way
Here I go, but here I stay

Lolling and barefootin'
City sootin' on my patio
I say hello and wave one toe
To my neighbor way down below

It's a Lazy August Afternoon
Cozy, repose-y in my cocoon
I'lll lay here till I see the moon
This Lazy August Afternoon

Contentedly open one eye
Watch seagulls gliding in the sky
Clouds slowly drift bye-bye
Up here, 14 stories high

The buzziest of bumblebees
Lets the breeze carry it along
Even Mister Mockingbird
Can't bother to muster a song

Lucky me - I've got it made
With sandwiches and lemonade
All my worries seem to fade
Melting in the sultry shade

It's a Lazy August Afternoon
Hope it doesn't end too soon
I'm floating like a toy balloon
This Lazy August Afternoon

Love this. Sounds like the things I love to do on a lazy August afternoon. We seem to enjoy the same things. 5/5

Love this stanza.....daydreaming taking a journey in your mind but never going anywhere.
