Holy Presence

by Emily   Sep 20, 2008

My heart quakes with a strong knowing,
The air around in quickening,
The quality of Your presence,
Makes my quarrel seem so petty,
How You quench my uncertainty.

My hands turn icy with fear,
Of the immaculate so near,
To my own irreverant presence,
I implore You to go away,
"I'm impure! So filthy!" I say.

Then the One who is ALL I lack,
Gently laughs and says, "Child, come back."
He leads me into His presence,
My heart leaps with His tender love,
Like a Father He has called and I his answering dove...

This poem starts with a sort of uncertainty and slowly turns into a quiet peaceful surrender, knowing you,ve been accepted. Such a beautiful poem . Well done
