A dance with the devil ( the dance)

by resisting reason   Sep 22, 2008

Then onto the lake
Without a doubt
I quiver and shake
On the flames that never go out

The fire below is calm
But vast like the ocean
Then the chorus bursts into song
And the fire is set in motion

Ripples sent forth in every direction
He extended his hand and bowed
The chorus sung in perfection
Harmonious and loud

And as I took his hand
The flames around us grew
"do you understand?"
"this is all for you"

As we trip the light fantastic
The flames twirl and circle and rise
A show so wonderfully dramatic
I seems it will never die

Around us both
The flame consumes
He kept his oath
As the fire bloomed

A fountain of ember
We ascend
And as we rise up the center
Our dance ends

We reached the top
But then that was it
The singing stopped
The fire split

And sank back down
We returned to shore
To solid ground
"My soul is yours"
